Use AI to Map Out Everyone Impacted by Your Project

If you’ve been following along in this series, you’ve created a strong foundation for your project:
A clear vision statement
Measurable success criteria
And a core team to get it done

Now let’s take it a step further.

Step 4: Identify Impacted Groups

Every project creates ripples—and understanding who is impacted (and how) helps you build a better communication and feedback loop from day one.

Use this week’s AI prompt to define the organizations, departments, and individuals affected by your project. Then take it a step further by asking for stakeholder engagement strategies tailored to your type of initiative.

📌Prompt:
"I need to list the groups impacted by my project [insert project vision statement + link] and [insert success criteria + link], those who will provide feedback, and those who will support the initiative. Please provide:

  1. A structured response under these categories:
    • Organizations impacted: [List relevant organizations]
    • Departments impacted: [List affected departments]
    • Individuals impacted: [List specific people or roles]

  2. Examples of best-practice stakeholder engagement strategies from similar projects.

If I don’t know how to answer, ask me things like this to gather the information you need:
• Who will be affected by this project (positively or negatively)?
• Who needs to provide input or feedback along the way?
• Who might resist or challenge this change?"

Heads-up: This step can surface unexpected stakeholders—and that’s a good thing. The sooner you bring them into the conversation, the smoother things will go later.
