What the First Monthly Reset Taught Me (and Why I’m Leaning Into What Works)

We wrapped up our very first Reset recently, and before rushing ahead to the next one, I wanted to pause and reflect.

Because that pause is the whole point!

With 11 more Monthly Resets ahead in 2026, the January session gave me clarity not just about what worked, but about why this work matters and how I want to hold it going forward.

Here’s what I learned:

Why We Changed the Name

We originally launched this as The New Moon Reset for Leaders. And while that framing made sense to us, something became clear almost immediately.

Everyone is a leader of something (their household, their work, their health, their relationships, their own life). But not everyone identifies as a leader.

What people were really responding to wasn’t the leadership label. It was the reset and what came with it. The permission to pause. The space to recalibrate. The feeling of starting the next four weeks with intention.

So we made a small shift: The Monthly Reset.

I still love the alignment with the new moon. That rhythm is still there. But I don’t want the name to pull focus away from what this truly is, which is a safe, welcoming place to reset, no matter how you see yourself!

You Can Do This From Anywhere (And That Matters)

One of the most affirming pieces of feedback I received was how accessible this experience felt. There is no special equipment, perfect setup, or “you have to be in the room with me to do it right.”

That turned out to be just as true for me as the facilitator.

I realized I can bring this work to people consistently all year long because it doesn’t require anything fancy. I can lead it from anywhere (even while traveling) and still create a grounded, meaningful experience.

That kind of simplicity is very sustainable for me and hopefully all our participants.

Making Peace With Repetition

Here’s a real tension I have to sit with.

There’s a part of me that loves doing things new and differently. I thrive in variation, creativity, and change.

And yet I know that this work benefits from rhythm.

There’s a gift in repetition. Especially when it helps people know what to expect and what they can rely on. So my commitment is this: I’m going to present the Reset in the same general structure each month.

That consistency is something repeat attendees can settle into. It allows the nervous system to relax. It turns the Reset into a reliable anchor.

And honestly? That mirrors nature pretty well. The new moon doesn’t reinvent itself every month. It simply arrives.

Resetting Together Changes Everything

One unexpected moment from January shifted my perspective in a big way.

I often present virtually, alone on my side of the screen, knowing everyone else is alone in their own space too. But for this Reset, I was in the room with my dear friend Will, who was helping with tech.

And it felt different. More grounded. More connected.

That’s when it clicked: this doesn’t have to be a solo experience.

Going forward, I really want to encourage people to bring someone with them.
A partner. A friend. Even the whole family!

The cost of the Reset stays the same,
no matter how many people are in the room with you.

Put it on the TV.
Pour a glass of wine.
Sit on the floor together.
Make it a shared ritual.

One January attendee is already planning to do the February Reset with their partner as a date night. I love that idea so much! What a beautiful way to ground the month ahead together.

This is a gentle, strategic planning ritual for real life.

The new moon has long been a symbol of beginnings and a quiet reset between cycles. This two-hour online session gives you space to pause, listen, and choose how you want to move forward before the month fills itself up.

During the session, you’ll:

  • Ground your body with gentle, accessible movement

  • Identify what matters most in the 4 weeks ahead

  • Create a simple one-page focus plan

  • Leave with more clarity, energy, and direction

Just bring yourself, a pen or pencil, and paper.

I hope you’ll join me… and maybe bring someone you care about along too!
